Hello and welcome!
I’m Kristin and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a writer, creative and certified yoga instructor.
My work stems from a mutual love with nature. I’m very much a life-long learner and value educational equity and access. This value is at the core of Clay–ensuring all have access to resources that inform, empower and nurture oneself.
I hope that my work can inspire the small circles it reaches–that it can be a seed, planting ideas, inspiration and, most of all, an open heart. Because it’s our openness that allows us to see clearly, and to know that positive change is attainable. That our actions make a difference—a difference Earth feels.
Clay has been close to my heart for a while now, taking its time to find its unique shape. The idea sprouted years ago, and evolved again and again with experience and insight, slowly blooming and refining itself into its current state. Though looking back, I see there were notable moments throughout my life that shaped Clay into what it is. I’ve shared those below, in case you’re interested.
I’m inspired by so much–art, movement, moments, people. Interbeing and interconnectedness. Clay blends these inspirations into one, a canvas marked with input and depth, designed and derived from our collective society.
I hope you find Clay useful in your daily life, serving as a safe space to develop peace, encouragement and empowerment. Thank you for being here, your presence matters.
With love and warmth,
Kristin
A timeline of love:
Growing up, my childhood home was surrounded by orange groves. Each spring morning I'd wake up to the sweet scent of orange blossom carried on the cool breeze. I'd smile and feel at ease, falling in love with nature’s way of being.
The seed: planted and patiently waiting.
In college, I came across The Green Year by Jodi Helmer, a book about small ways to make a difference for our environment. It was then I became committed to learning how to better care for our planet. It was a small thing, a simple book, yet it showed me the power of word and resource, when combined.
The water: rooting the seed, germinating.
As my career began, I looked for ways to bring my love for our environment to the forefront. Over the years I've hoped that my skills in marketing and writing could be used for Earth—to educate and inspire, to give people a moment to stop, reflect and consider how their decisions are potent. How our behaviors compound. How our actions matter.
The sun: bringing warmth and direction.
In 2022, I had the opportunity to lead content and creative for an inaugural global climate summit, co-hosted by United Nations Human Rights. The summit discussed climate solutions at the intersection of human rights, social justice and climate change. The summit resulted in the first iteration of Human Rights Climate Commitments (HRCC), presented at COP28.
The air: expansive, nurturing, breathing life.
In 2023, I joined the Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet cohort through Plum Village. It was here that I deepened my practice, learning how mindful action and climate action go hand-in-hand. This course reinforced my vision for Clay, giving me the resources necessary to build a practice and foundation.
The bloom: alive and well.
